The story of A23 Wines began several years ago, born from a dream of creating something together. We, Thomas & Gunhild — a couple with different careers, Thomas having lived and breathed wine since the 1980s, and Gunhild with a background in art and design — wanted to combine these two ways of life. And we did. Our journey started in August 2023 with our “firstborn,” a Riesling Trocken from Pfalz, Germany.

The A23 Wines brand symbolizes A for Amphora — the clay vessel used in ancient Greece for wine storage — and 23 for the year 2023, the year our first wine was launched. A23 Wines produces classic, grape-pure wines with distinct profiles at a price range that appeals to most. Our target audience is the taste- and quality-conscious consumer who desires a delicate wine with a traditional and characteristic silhouette. A genuine and authentic wine, made with loving care in an environment where the grapes have optimal conditions to achieve the highest quality. The flavor is developed and produced from high-quality grapes and carefully selected winemakers. Each A23 wine represents the grape in its purest and most outstanding form. Many stones have been turned and many vineyards visited to achieve the precise flavor profile for each A23 wine.

The design follows a strict, minimalist direction. The elegant and decorative label appeals to the discerning consumer with its pronounced “quiet luxury” expression. A23 wines grace any table — whether enjoyed at a fine dinner or as a small everyday luxury.
